The Mayor Denied to Pay Landslide Tab
Property owners at the top of a North Vancouver escarpment will pay for initial improvements to reduce the risk of a landslide burying their neighbours at the bottom of the slope, the mayor of the District of North Vancouver said. But the owners say some of those improvements should have been completed after a 1980 report called for better storm drainage and landscaping changes to some of the steeper slopes -- and the district should pay for work the owners never expected when they bought their houses.
