Real Estate Incomes Up in 2004

Statistics Canada reports total revenue reported by real estate agents, brokers, appraisers and other real estate industries increased sharply in 2004, reflecting the continued upward trend in residential real estate markets across the country.

Total revenue for these industries was up 11.4% to $8.9 billion in 2004.

This growth reflects an increase in sales and higher real estate prices.

Ontario continued to account for the bulk of the industry with 52 per cent of total revenue.
