Condo Sales Account for 89% of Jan 2005 Resales

Condominium sales made up 89 per cent of the activity, showing a rise of 69 per cent over a year earlier.

Looking ahead, market experts predict another strong year for real estate.

There were 7,545 condo apartments and townhouses rented during the year, the majority of them in downtown Toronto and Ottawa , particularly the waterfront area.

Rents rose in all unit types, with the highest increase seen in three-bedroom suites, which rent for an average of $1,518 a month.
