Farm Boy Opens in Barrhaven Next Week, March 16

Locally-owned grocery chain Farm Boy plans to open its newest Ottawa supermarket, in Barrhaven, March 16.

The store, at 3033 Woodroffe Avenue, will be Farm Boy's seventh Ottawa location. It offers 21,000 square feet of retail space and will employ 125 people.

Farm Boy plans to open an eighth Ottawa store later this year, at the site of the former Market Fresh grocery in the Blue Heron Mall.

Thursday March 16, 2006. Located at 3033 Woodroffe Avenue this new location houses 21,000 square feet of retail space and will provide 125 new jobs to the local market.

Ottawa Mayor Bob Chiarelli and Bell South Nepean Counselor Jan Harder will join Farm Boy owners Jean Louis, Normand, and Daniel Bellemare, along with President Donny Milito for the grand opening. An 8:45 am ribbon cutting ceremony will be immediately followed by the opening of the doors and a day of live entertainment.

The celebration continues Saturday March 18th with lots of colourful entertainment on site.

This new opening brings Farm Boy's total to seven Ottawa locations, with an eighth opening planned at the site of the former Market Fresh in the Blue Heron Mall later this year. The Company also has a location in Cornwall, Ontario.
